Personality: (At least three well written paragraphs.)
Julian prefers to control himself when the situation threatens to get out of hand, as he's very worried about his anger rising and causing him to do something that he might regret. This means that he has to put a degree of distance between himself and his friends, though an increasing exception is his girlfriend Sarah Taber. He likes having someone to lavish attention upon and vice versa, but is starting to fall for her more than he expected. She along with his friends, close or not, are very important to him and he is always generous. Most of the time his generosity is taken advantage of, but he is such a people pleaser that he pretends not to notice.
Sarah is a demanding girlfriend, requiring gifts and lots of attention to keep her happy although he does not mind because there are several benefits to keep him hooked. Physical intimacy is quite important to him for starters; he may have a difficult time restraining his emotions and putting Sarah in an illusion, but it makes him feel needed and appreciated. She shares CDs with him because they have the same musical tastes and makes sure that he has the latest fashions and technology, which he appreciates because he has something to talk about with other people. Though she seems shallow to most people, he gets glimpses of a more interesting side to her, something deeper than what she shows to her friends. It is this that intrigues him.
He likes his privacy and sense of security. Change to his lifestyle is difficult for him to adjust to and he is more comfortable knowing if he is in charge of a situation. His ability, at the worst, frightens him, but at the same time, he needs to know how he can do what he can. Though he has no idea where to start looking, he is still determined to find out the truth. Baseball is his favorite sport and he joined the team at the start of high school. His parents are happy about this because he is participating in an acitvity with other people and he found the other people on the team relatively tolerable.

History:
When Lacey gave birth to Julian on a chilly October twentieth, she and Christopher were elated. They'd waited for his arrival impatiently throughout the nine months of Lacey's pregnancy and now they prepared to give him as much attention as possible with their daily lives. Lacey hired a well-recommended nanny after her maternity leave ended, whose presence became an important part of his life. Deb Rookton was her name and she was gentle and fun, though she made sure to teach Julian decent manners as soon as he was old enough to remember. Lacey and Christopher became very fond of Deb soon and it was not long before she moved into the house to be a full time nanny. When it was time for Julian to begin preschool, he resisted going as much as possible because he missed Deb and home. Only after much persuasion from his parents and Deb was he able to relax a little and attempt to befriend the others in his class. As he was a quiet child, Julian had difficulty asserting himself and making many friends.
Elementary school found him in the same position, which worried his parents and they encouraged him to join a club. They thought that him being a Cub Scout would help him find potential friends. During the Scouts activities, Julian started to have telepathic flashes. It freaked him out because he had no idea what was happening and struggled to determine what exactly it was. He was out with another boy gathering wood when he specifically heard a brief flash of thought that was not his. Frightened, he became very quiet and did not talk to anyone until he was back home. Even with his parents, Julian barely spoke and holed himself in his room, though doing so made them worried. He received flashes of thought when he did not expect it, though in truth it was only when his emotions flared passionately.
Julian at thirteen was a reasonably quiet child with the occasional disagreement with his parents, but one day, he had such a bad argument that he accidentally put his parents into a strong illusion. It lasted only a few seconds, but the experience shocked him so much that he did not say anything to his parents about it, or talked very much for several days afterwards. It was the first time that the fact that he was different struck him in the face. Julian tried to ignore it as much as possible, but it was difficult when he continued to have telepathic glimpses every once in a while and not be able to control it. He figured that one of the reasons for him putting his parents into the illusion was that he became very angry and promised himself that he was not going to be that angry again. He did his best to control nearly all of his emotions so there was no chance of him hurting people.
Julian's luck turned when he was sixteen and got his driver's license. To celebrate, Lacey bought him a yellow Ferrari Spider and it instantly won him popularity with his peers. A girl named Sarah Taber in his English class happened to be quite impressed with it as well and introduced herself. They found that they had the same musical interests and at the time, it was enough for them to start dating. Sarah needed a great deal of affection and gifts to be truly satisfied with their relationship, but she captivated him so much that he stuck by her. In return for all the material gifts he gave her, she always made it her duty to point him to the latest fashions in clothing, cell phones and other technology, as well as divulging the latest school gossip so he knew what their friends said. There were times when he found it difficult to keep an interest in talking about people behind their backs and did not contribute, merely going with the consensus. It was easier that way for him.
Unfortunately, the number of odd events increased and Julian tried his best not to let his parents and girlfriend know that there was anything different about him because he didn't want them to worry. There were a couple of instances where it was difficult to ignore that something had happened to them, but Julian decided not to elaborate and they did not want to press the issue. It was at the start of his last year of high school that he decided he needed to find out what was happening to him.
